The Beloit Autorama, one of the biggest and best car shows around, was this past weekend and I missed it! As a slight consolation, I came across an amazing website, Chromeography. I’m sure everyone’s seen these posters by now. They’re everywhere. I figured they were something new and trendy and started to dislike them, BUT after seeing this video I love them! Funny how a little history makes something seem so different to me.
These are actually British war propaganda posters from WWII. There were over 2.5 million printed and meant only to be distributed in times of crisis or invasion. They never saw the light of day though until 2000 when one was discovered in an old book at Barter Books in England. It really is a great story.
