I finally saw Moonrise Kingdom over the weekend. It’s pretty awesome. The story is good, but the way it’s told and presented is what makes the movie amazing! I feel that’s the case with most Wes Anderson movies. The style, the colors, the setting, the nostalgia, the acting, the directing, the music…everything is just so cool and unique. The fact that Wes Anderson used Google Earth to scope out the movie location and that he uses miniature sets for his movies, just adds to the intrigue. The movie makes you feel like you’re on a fun-filled adventure in a cool and foreign land, but yet you’re in the confines of your backyard. So damn cool.
If you haven’t seen the Moonrise Kingdom trailer yet, give it a peek…along with their awesome website. It captures the feel and quirkiness of the movie perfectly.
